A Feast of Thanks and Fun: Recap of the American Experience Club’s Thanksgiving Event
Thanksgiving with Green River College’s American Experience Club
In the spirit of gratitude and togetherness, the American Experience Club recently hosted a delightful Thanksgiving-themed event at the Student Union (SU) building. The gathering brought students together for an evening filled with snacks, games, and creative activities, embodying the warmth and camaraderie of the holiday season.
Snacks and socializing
As attendees entered the SU building, they were greeted by a spread of delicious snacks, setting the perfect tone for the festive occasion. From savory bites to sweet treats, the snacks provided a delightful prelude to the evening’s activities. Students mingled and connected over a shared appreciation for good food and good company.
Games galore
The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the array of entertaining games that had everyone laughing and bonding. Yam racing brought a unique twist to the festivities, as participants raced to the finish line with yams instead of traditional props. Broken telephone added an element of hilarity as whispers evolved into amusing reinterpretations by the end of the line.
Improv acting
Creativity took center stage with improv acting, where students showcased their spontaneous storytelling skills. Laughter echoed through the room as participants embraced the unexpected and shared in the joy of improvisation.
Arts and crafts — hand turkey edition!
The arts and crafts station provided a hands-on experience for attendees to express their creativity. Creating hand turkeys became a cherished tradition, with students crafting unique and colorful turkeys that served as both artistic expressions and delightful souvenirs from the event.
Icebreakers and thankfulness
To deepen the sense of community, icebreakers were woven into the evening, facilitating open conversations among attendees. Sharing thoughts on what each person was thankful for not only fostered a sense of gratitude but also created connections by discovering common threads in the things that bring joy and appreciation.
The joy of shared experiences
The Thanksgiving-themed event hosted by the American Experience Club was a resounding success, bringing students together for an evening of laughter, camaraderie, and creativity. As we approach the holiday season, events like these serve as reminders of the importance of gratitude, community, and the joy found in shared experiences. The American Experience Club continues to be a beacon of cultural exchange and friendship, enriching the university experience for all involved.
