FAQ

Yes, it’s totally OK! Many students are unsure of their major when they apply. Once on campus, you can also meet with an advisor if you change your mind or want additional help.

The I-20 document is an immigration document issued by a U.S. government-approved educational institution. It certifies that a student has been admitted to a full-time study program and has demonstrated sufficient financial resources to stay and study in the United States. The I-20 will allow you as an individual to apply for an F-1 student visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate abroad.

Unfortunately, international students are not eligible for U.S. financial aid. However, a lot of schools have scholarship programs that you may apply for. Research them for each school you’re interested in to make sure you meet the requirements.

The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) is a national database used to maintain current information on international students and exchange visitors who are in the United States for educational purposes.

Of course! Having your transcripts evaluated is highly recommended as it is a great way to save money and understand the equivalency of your courses in the U.S. education system.

Deadlines vary from school to school, so you should research them for each college or university you’re interested in applying to. For example, many schools require applications for the fall semester be submitted by January, meaning you would need to apply no later than December. But if you want to study at one of the schools in the University of California system, the deadline for fall semester is November 30.

Unless you choose to take English Second Language Courses as a student, you will need to take an English Proficiency Exam. It’s a good idea to take the exam to find out your English level.

Applying to a graduate school varies from one school to another. Prospective international students who want to pursue their graduate studies in the United States must have already completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in their home country. Additional tests such as the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) may be required for admissions.

Certainly, our college and university partners offer many options for short-term programs where you can earn a certificate.
