Making the Impossible Possible: My Journey to LA Pierce College

Why Studying Abroad Changed My Life

Hi, my name is Alice Do, I'm from Vietnam, and I'm majoring in film and television at Los Angeles Pierce College (LAPC). Studying abroad is a dream for many, but it often comes with many challenges. For me, this journey was no different. I navigated my way through a gap year, a year at university in Vietnam, and finally made my dream of studying in the United States a reality.

Right now, I’m enjoying my time studying at LAPC, and my dream is to transfer to a university to major in film production. Here’s my story about overcoming difficulties to achieve my dream of studying abroad.

Why studying abroad?

Studying abroad offers so much more than just academic advancement. For me, it was an opportunity to immerse herself in a new culture, gain a broader perspective on the world, and develop a strong sense of independence.

It unfolds many opportunities for personal and professional networking, helping me to develop necessary skills such as adaptability and communication, which are needed in today’s world. Moreover, I truly believe that hard work pays off. Even though I was once not confident in myself, with dedication to improving myself, I made it.

A day in my life

Recently, I created a personal vlog during one of LAPC's field trips, which gives a glimpse into my life as an international student. You can watch my journey and experiences in my vlog here: Journey to the USA: Make the Impossible Possible.
