“Gateway gave me a solid foundation of skills for my career.” Graduate Krystal Muzzulla, Nursing

Gateway Technical College serves Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth counties with eight campuses or centers and more than 65 education programs for health, business, manufacturing & engineering and service careers

HANDS-ON LEARNING

The majority of Gateway’s core program courses begin with learning and then applying that knowledge in a lab setting and then to real-world projects. Many students come to Gateway to update and expand their skill set so they are more valuable to their current employer and become more recession-proof.

Gateway prides itself in teaching the latest methods and technology for careers of today... and tomorrow.

INDUSTRY-SAVVY INSTRUCTORS

Successful Gateway grads often credit their instructors for their success. Instructors not only may have advanced degrees, but also have professional experience from outside the classroom in the areas they instruct. They maintain professional memberships and associations and share their experiences with their classes.

Instructors also understand that most students balance coursework with family and work responsibilities, so they provide students with the tools they need to be successful in and out of class.

SMALL CLASS SIZES PROVIDING INDIVIDUAL HELP

You are not going to find large lecture halls or courses taught by student teaching assistants at Gateway. Most of our classes have fewer than 20 students, which gives you time for one-on-one assistance when necessary.

FLEXIBILITY

Attend Gateway YOUR way. We have full-time students, part-time students, students who take day classes, and students who take night classes. We offer courses on Saturdays, online, and self-paced.

We are constantly seeking opportunities to improve your access to a Gateway education. Gateway is the only technical college in the state of Wisconsin that offers three full semesters per academic year. This gives students more opportunity to move through program requirements quickly.

We also attract many students from four-year colleges over the summer because they can earn Gateway credits and transfer them to their college or university.

HIGH-VALUE EDUCATION

With academic rigor at a level competitive with any area university or college, Gateway’s tuition is often one-half to one-third that of other educational institutions. Students can pay their Gateway tuition through a payment plan, credit card, scholarship, or financial aid.

95 percent of Gateway students, who complete the application process, receive some sort of financial aid.

TRANSFERABILITY

Gateway has transfer (articulation) agreements with nearly all regional four-year colleges and universities. Gateway grads are job-ready AND academically prepared to continue on to earn a bachelor’s degree.

Each agreement is different. Please talk with your Gateway advisor when considering future education.

ACTIVE CAMPUS LIFE

Students involved in student clubs and professional organizations have a terrific opportunity to obtain hands-on experience, professional development, and networking opportunities in their chosen career. Participants often compete regionally and nationally, meet employers in the field, and enjoy social activities and projects with other students.

Each campus has representatives on United Student Government, which helps represent students’ needs and issues. The Student Life office schedules entertainment and other activities so students can relax and have fun during their time at Gateway.

“One of the things I see in many Gateway graduates is drive. They seem motivated to better themselves, are always trying to learn and they’re willing to work, which adds up to a perfect candidate for W. M. Sprinkman.” Bob Moss, Shop Foreman W.M. Sprinkman Corp.
