The English Language Training Institute,  part of the University of North Carolina Charlotte's Office of International Programs, prepares English learners to be successful in the US academic community while promoting intercultural understanding and a global perspective.

• Oldest and largest English language program in North Carolina

• Located in North Carolina’s largest metropolitan area, close to New York City, Atlanta, and Washington, DC.

Intensive English Program

• 20 hours/week full-time study
  • Six levels of study from beginning to advanced
  • College readiness and academic English instruction in reading, writing, listening, speaking, pronunciation
  • Semesters starting in January (15 weeks), May (10 weeks), August (15 weeks)
  • Highly trained instructors with master degrees in Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Full student access to university services: health and student centers, recreation facilities, sporting events, student clubs, theater
  • On-campus housing available
