Overview

Wayne County Community College District is a public, two-year college with more than 70,000 full-time/part-time students. We offer an open, academic environment for students of all ages and backgrounds. The expansion of our international educational opportunities provide the opportunity for students to develop their knowledge, skills, experiences and attitudes to prepare them for the global society in the 21st century. There are currently more than 400 international students from almost 25 countries.

At WCCCD we value the intellectual, cultural, and social values that the international students bring to our District. We are a multi-campus urban/suburban system serving more than 70,000 students each year. The campuses are located on the international border of Canada, in the center of the cultural museum district and the home of Motown, and surrounded by engineering wonders of the automotive industry. Addressing today’s demand for highly trained professionals in health care and homeland security, the District’s Health Sciences Center and the Michigan Institute for Public Safety offer our students a unique advantage.

Academics

Our specialized facilities are located at several of our five campuses, offering 6 convenient locations, 109 degree and certificate programs to choose from. Students can pursue a one-year certificate or a two-year associate degree.

WCCCD is well known for its degree and certificate programs in Nursing, Pre-Engineering, Dental, Computer Information Technology, and other areas of study among international students.

At WCCCD, we value diversity and seek multiple perspectives to prepare our students for the global environment in which they will work and live. While striving to promote awareness, perspectives, and understanding of international cultures, we also recognize that our international students enrich the educational experience of our academic community, increase our global awareness, and provide cross-cultural interactions among us.

WCCCD is a State of Michigan public community college offering a wide range of academic and professional courses necessary for a certification, an associate degree, and all the breadth requirements of four-year state colleges or universities. Please take a few minutes to navigate through our website and familiarize yourself with the many programs and services that we offer. Many of our International students appreciate our beautiful campuses where small classes allow them to receive personal attention from our instructors who take a personal interest in each student’s successful learning experience.
