Why Study In Illinois?

Illinois is a favorite destination for international students. Last year over 28,000 students from around the globe chose Illinois because of its wide variety of academic programs and its excellent location in the middle of the United States. Wherever you are in Illinois, you are never far from metropolitan areas with convenient access for international and domestic travel.

Illinois' midwestern location means residents enjoy four distinct seasons of weather - hot summers, colorful autumns, cold winters, and pleasant springs. With rolling hills, vast prairies, the great Lake Michigan, and towering skyscrapers of Chicago, Illinois offers international students an excellent location for education and recreation.

Illinois is home to several corporate headquarters including McDonalds, Motorola, Boeing, CDW, United, and State Farm. These provide great opportunities for internships and careers.

Come explore the riches of Illinois:

  • History
  • Art and architecture
  • Shopping
  • Restaurants and Entertainment
  • Outdoor Recreation
  • Professional Sports - Chicago is home of the Cubs (baseball); White Sox (baseball); Bulls (basketball); Bears (football); Blackhawks (hockey); and Fire (soccer)
