Finding the money to attend college or university can be quite a struggle, especially for international students. That’s why it is by far one of the most popular questions on StudyUSA.com: where can I find scholarships for international students? We will be answering that popular question every week by posting schools that offer scholarships to international students.
Bemidji State University offers international students scholarships for those seeking undergraduate degrees. The International Student Merit Award (ISMA) is awarded to students at the time of admission and is based on the student’s academic records and admission essay. The scholarship is valued at $500 off tuition. The amount of scholarships available is limited and is given on a first-come basis. St. Cloud State University provides international students a variety of scholarship options. The Academic and Cultural Sharing scholarship offers international students state resident tuition rates for those student who meet eligibility requirements. In addition, they offer a variety of other scholarships and services for international students, including resources for finding external scholarships. Winona State University offers multiple scholarships to international students. The Cross-Cultural Scholarship is available to eligible international students who have an F-1 student visa. The scholarship is equivalent to the difference between resident tuition rate and non-resident tuition rate. The Presidential Honor Scholarship is for incoming freshmen who have taken the SAT or ACT. Mississippi College offers scholarships to international undergraduate and graduate students. Undergraduate international students who are eligible can receive $800 in financial aid each semester for their first two semesters of study. The Office of Global Education will double the financial aid of students who obtain a 4.0 GPA in their first semester. In addition, merit-based scholarships are available to undergraduate sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Scholarship awards are from $1,000-$5,000 per year. Graduate international students are provided $650 in financial aid each semester, if they maintain a 3.0 GPA or above.
